Shoshone OHV Trail

Nevada's Newest Off-Road Adventure Ready for Action

Located about 24 miles south of Battle Mountain in north-central Nevada, the Mount Lewis Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management has begun the implementation of Phase I of this trail system that is open to vehicles less than 50” in width. About 19 miles of trail have been completed so far in 2010 and about 39 miles are scheduled for implementation in 2011. After monitoring, additional Phases could be implemented over the next several years.
Battle Mountain is known as the “Gateway to the Outback” and this trail system offers a remote experience with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains. For those who want to get away from it all, but yet see it all, this is the perfect place to ride. This scenic trail system passes through several highdesert ecosystems as it climbs to 8,000 feet in elevation. The trailhead offers parking for big rigs and primitive camping, a learner loop, and warm-up loops.
